Overview of our policies for all returns and refunds

Our refunds and returns policy is applied up to 30 days from the date of purchase for merchandise. If 30 days have passed since your purchase, unfortunately, we cannot offer you a full refund or exchange.

To be eligible for a return of merchandise, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It also must be in the original packaging.

Non-returnable items:

  • Perishable goods such as food, flowers, newspapers, or magazines cannot be returned.
  • We also do not accept products that are intimate or sanitary goods, hazardous materials, or flammable liquids or gases.

Live Animals:

For live rabbit sales, our returns and refunds policy is different due to the nature of these animals. Every rabbit undergoes a full health inspection before leaving our rabbitry to ensure they are in good health. We guarantee the rabbit’s health only while in our possession. We do not allow any animal suspected of being ill to leave the rabbitry until a health inspection confirms their restored good health. Once a rabbit leaves our premises, all responsibility for the animal’s care and well-being transfers to the new owner.

  • Due to the nature of live rabbit sales, returns or exchanges are not supported once the rabbit leaves the rabbitry.
  • Any concerns regarding the health of the rabbit upon arrival must be reported within 24 hours of receipt with photographic evidence to

Refunds (Merchandise Only)

Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you of the receipt of your returned item. We will also inform you of the approval or rejection of your refund.

If approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your credit card or original payment method within a certain number of days.

Late or Missing Refunds

If you haven’t received a refund yet, first check your bank account again.

Next, contact your credit card company; it may take some time before your refund is officially posted.

Then, contact your bank. There is often some processing time before a refund is posted.

Sale Items

Only regular priced items may be refunded. Unfortunately, sale items cannot be refunded.

Exchanges (Merchandise Only)

We only replace items if they are defective or damaged. For an exchange of the same item, send us an email at


If the item was marked as a gift when purchased and shipped directly to you, you’ll receive a gift credit for the value of your return. Once the returned item is received, a gift certificate will be mailed to you.

If the item wasn’t marked as a gift when purchased, or the gift giver had the order shipped to themselves to give to you later, we will send a refund to the gift giver, and they will find out about your return.

Rabbits as Gifts

We have a strict policy against selling rabbits as surprise gifts, no exceptions! Rabbits are sentient beings that require a long-term commitment, understanding, and preparation from their prospective owners. Surprising someone with a rabbit as a gift does not allow for this essential preparation and can lead to situations where the rabbit’s welfare is compromised.

Rabbits have specific needs, including a special diet, regular veterinary care, and a safe, enriching environment. Accepting the responsibility of caring for a rabbit should be a personal and well-informed decision. For these reasons, we encourage those considering a rabbit as a gift to instead provide a gift certificate or to involve the intended recipient in the adoption process, ensuring a loving and prepared home. Gift Certificates for rabbit adoptions

If you wish to gift someone the joy of rabbit companionship, we offer gift certificates for live rabbit sales. This allows the recipient to be fully involved in the process of choosing their new family member at the right time for them. Gift certificates can be bought and transferred to adoption recipients who will then begin the adoption process with The Big Fat Rabbitat. If the recipient fails to fulfill our adoption requirements, the original price for the adoption can be refunded to the original purchaser only. Shipping Refunds and Returns

To return your product, you should mail your product to our physical address.

You will be responsible for paying for your own shipping costs for returning your item. Shipping costs are non-refundable. If you receive a refund, the cost of return shipping will be deducted from your refund.

Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you may vary.

For returning more expensive items, consider using a trackable shipping service or purchasing shipping insurance. We don’t guarantee that we will receive your returned item.
